Who is Vinejoy?

You might not expect a Michigan-born Spanish major with absurdly high interest in French house music and a die-hard Cubs fan, cyclist and foodie to start a wine company, much like you wouldn’t expect raw fish rolled with rice in dark ocean weed to be delicious. Quite often, though, unusual blends tend to be surprisingly effective.

Vinejoy is exactly what it sounds like: a company that brings joy to the community, starting with a nurtured vine and running right through every event we host. We’re all about providing Chicago with unique, handcrafted, story-filled wines and the most engaging events we can think up.

Which isn’t to say we’re winging it. After 12 years of tasting, studying, discussing and selling wine, we know what we’re talking about and we’re experts at recognizing when wine is well-made. That’s the juice we pass along to you.

We’re not middlemen, we’re messengers. We’re appreciators. We love real wine so much that we literally started a company to get it to you. No, literally…like paperwork and shit.

Wine just has to be handmade because that’s where the heart is, and you can always taste it. We seek out the most impressive of the small batches from around the country and bring them to Chicago, where we try our best to get them into your mouth.

What it boils down to is removing the pretentiousness and insecurity from the business of enjoying wine. Our job is simply to bring the best wines to their intended audience—the best people—and to have a ton of fun doing it.
